With Labour more people locally have been involved in discussing how the town should run than ever. With the Labour government’s neighbourhood renewal money for parts of Hastings, neighbourhood forums have been set up and in Greater hollington a neighbourhood management scheme.
The Labour-led council has paid for staff to make sure the Young Person’s Council runs. It has set up and staffed the Seniors’ Forum so local people of all ages can have their say.
The town has been divided into four geographical areas to enable residents throughout the borough to get involved in shaping services to meet the particular needs of their community.
Labour doesn’t just talk about community involvement, it has delivered it.
Labour promises:
To continue involving local people in deciding how services should be delivered in their area with action plans for each quarter of the town.
